Ministry

Agape Ministries has carried out mission work, church planting, evangelism, church strengthening and unifying, as well as social welfare programmes in all of the 25 districts in Sri Lanka.

youthSince youth are the lifeline and future of the church, our aim is to create and release a dynamic, passionate and dedicated youth movement having the Joshua-Caleb spirit and drive. Today, youth flock together at revival meetings conducted throughout the island – they enthusiastically commit their lives to serve the Lord.

The Agape youth organised prayer rallies for the nation in the cities and provinces. They networked with Christian youth throughout the country and they ministered even to adults. They also set up Christian youth fellowships in the provinces.

shofarWe conduct united, interdenominational church prayer crusades, rallies and all-night prayer vigils to pray for the nation, demanding the Lord to flood the nation with transformation and revival. We sound the ram horn or shofar, on the streets of our nation, proclaiming the jubilee and the deliverance of the Lord.

Agape Ministry conducted a project for several years at the Maharagama cancer hospital, praying for patients and providing nutritional needs. We also donated urgent medical equipment requested by the hospital.

floodsWe care and provide for those who have been widowed, orphaned and become destitute as a result of war and crisis. We also serve and minister to the poverty stricken and malnourished communities of plantations and our native Veddah community.

We have distributed dry rations and medical items to those affected by the war in the North and East of Sri Lanka, where some had starved for long periods. We also provided for those badly affected by tsunami, floods and other natural disasters.

soldiersSince 1999 Agape continuously served among the Sri Lankan forces at the battlefront, ministering even in the bunkers when the war was raging with intensity. We have also visited injured soldiers in hospitals and contributed to their welfare.

We continue to support many rural churches, both financially and spiritually. We also especially support families of martyred pastors.
